Female opinion: Permanent makeup I understand! Would save a lot of time!
Is it all about control over nature? I pluck my eyebrows into shape (they would like to grow together). Plucking everything off would be to look personal/weird (weird enough now :-D). Plucking off and drawing back I don't understand.
I'd shave my eyebrows off too if it didn't make me look like an alien. Maybe that's why. They got sick of plucking so they shaved it, then realized they look funny wo it. Thus the sharpie
i refuse to get tattoos on the principle that i change my mind too much and i don't want to scar my body with shit i might want to forget several years down the line.
Changing of mind is something I have think/talk about LOT in last few days. I'm so bone-headed, that I'll think for a while (shorter or longer while), then I make up my mind and that's it. Changing my mind is possible but not easy (needs VERY good arguments).
My problem is not to tolerate people who make up their mind slowly / are unable to do it. I was SO furious to my friend few days ago: I saw he has made a decision, but he wasn't ready to say it out. And after some co-incidences, he finally made up his mind and thought he has told it to me - which he hasn't done. He thinks everything is OK and I'm climbing of the walls. Great!
i was thinking more along the lines of getting a tat and remembering all the stories around the tat that would make forgetting those previous years harder. it is human nature to forget things, we only remember what we need too. in 5 years time i might not want to remember <insert x>, yet having a tat would bring me back to the place, time and people around that particular piece of ink.
@sheryl4321: Too often :-). I was thinking about eye-linings to save some time (I'm not a morning people at all).
@constantine: You have to live with your past and decisions anyway. That's part of my nature, too: If I have made a decision, I'll carry the consequences.
i don't think of them as consequences, more like paths that have appeared due to choices. i don't go backwards, always forward, but sometimes i want to forget the past.
you have to be optimistic these days, otherwise you soon realize the world really is a pile of shit and what you do at the end of the day is irrelevant. sisu!
on shaved/drawn eyebrows - wrong wrong wrong! But then mistakes happen and sometimes a wee bit of filling in is required...
Re: permanent makeup - I can't think of a worse idea. Makeup is self expression. Today, pink and sparkly, tomorrow plum and dramatic, the next funky and greeny gold. Its a girl's everyday theatrical expression!
@thatcanadiangirl: Gone for last 15 yrs with thin black linings... can't feel it too expressive :-). Party make-up is totally different thing!
@ constantine: Maybe sisu is in my DNA, and that's why I can be realistic :-). And yes, I know that world is a pile of shit and what I do at the end of the day is irrelevant. So what? That's our difference, honey! Or are you saying I have lost my faith to future?
being realistic doesn't mean you've lost your faith in the future, only that you fit your future choices within a realm of logic that limits the amount of potential fun you might have. being insane has its advantages, so does being a realist, so does being paranoid, so do being other extremes in human nature; the key to fun in balance. i should swallow some of my own advice and just move back to helsinki where i once had a flourishing social network or get off my ass and build some more concrete relationships here in tampere. being in a constant state of flux doesn't make me want to buckle down.
I know, I too much look for safety and stability instead of taking risks (to win or loose). And I also know (too f*ing well) that I have missed some damn good things 'cause of that. AND I'm SO jealous of you young, brave people about decisions you have made. But - still - I haven't lost my faith to future. (This might be my doom - or glory - in some day.)
back to eyebrows - never bothered to do much to them. haven't heard guys complain about them. some girls on the other hand have looked at me weird, like i don't know how to take care of myself. oh well.... my mom does have tattooed eyebrows though, although that's because she's practically bald in the eyebrow area, so it saves her time from having to draw them in every morning.

Most girls I know pluck them into shape, never met one who takes them totally off.

Eyebrows are just the tip of the iceberg. I don't know what my wife spends on beauty products.

But a clown smile, you'd never get tired of that. It'll be like all those batman comics and an instant topic at parties

You are so optimistic! I'm pessimistic/realistic and some things in my past I don't want to think about - but I don't want to forget them either.
