thank you all! i just finished a very late lunch and finally logged online to see all this fantastic support. truth is ricky (symbian guru) knew about this way before you people did. we both applied for the same position, which you can see here: http://blogs.s60.com/consumed/2008/02/help_wanted.html
we both got the position, except ricky's paperwork finished much faster than mine. i asked him to keep it a secret until i knew 100% i was good to go and well ... i'm good to go!
my goal is to kick as much butt during these 3 months (the length of my contract) as i can and hope to turn my role at nokia into a career. it will be hard work, but i'm up for the challenge!
i will go into more detail about this on intomobile at the start of next week, that is when i officially begin, but the contracts have been signed and they are sitting on my desk as i type this.
to all the nokia employees who replied to this jaiku, i am glad that we are now apart of the same team working towards the same goal and i hope that one day we can all sit at a table in the cafeteria at nokia house that overlooks the sea.
@stefan: just reading the job spec, seems very challenging (in a good way) and I think you'd be well capable for it. Kicking ass may be something that'll be needed :)
One thing: the job spec mentions US/Boston based? I presume you'll be staying in Finlandia?
@duncan: yeah kinda. particularly since from reading, it seems NOK is placing itself in a good position in D'Internet world...
Its just a little difficult at the moment with all of the changes going on. I am surfing on the wave of change at the moment. I hope I don't fall off too soon :)
location = Finland, very excited about the fact that I don't have to leave the country I fell in love with! Boston would have been cool, I actually like that city, but in the project's current state there would be no need for me to relocate as little would be gained.
Just a guess, but since he's sorting out tax in Finland that kinda says to me that he's staying in Finland and getting paid in Euros. The question now is whether he's fallen in love with Tampere enough to stay or if he's going to move to Helsinki
i think i'm going to wait and see what happens after this 3 month contract expires before going back to HEL, TRE is ok for now, better than OK, I've actually made some friends!

@duncan: an advocate is someone that speaks on behalf of someone else, but brings criticism (constructive of course!) back to that person/company.
