the jaiku crowd was more dependable, twitter crowd is still too new and relationships too fragile to make any conclusions at this point.

well, there's qaiku now ;) many of the jaiku oldtimers are there
Don't forget the JaikuRefugees on Identica.
This just goes to show that any strategy based on forcing your entire social circle to use the same piece of software is fundamentally doomed.
The only viable solutions is federation.

qaiku seems to have lots of finnish Jaikuers but pretty close to zero adaptation outside Finland, correct?

I'm sure there's room but the amount of other languages than finnish may be fairly low unless the situation changes... :P
@slux: well, considering it hasn't been open for more than about a week, and marketing has been word-of-mouth only (afaik), it's not really a huge surprise that the bulk of users on Qaiku is finnish.
