@nikcorg are you a developer/involved? If so, I have another one for you.
I tried to sign up this morning from my mobile (Nokia E71, with most recent firmware, using the built in browser), and got the following error: http://is.gd/mRs6
I was trying to get the same username, runningwithbulls, but the error didn't seem to be connected with it.
@runningwithbulls, we have received a couple of requests asking us to allow longer usernames, so we'll take it in a new consideration. There's some problems with really long usernames, but let's see.
About the error you received in mobile: we have been altering the registeration code quite heavily during the last few days because of some cornercase problems, so there might be something weird going on in the mdot site (i am sorry for this, we should've been more careful). We'll take a look into this.
@constantine, the basic layout is what it is, but you are able to change the colors and stuff, so you might be able to make it a little bit more pleasent to your own eye as well.
@eholmila don't worry about the error, I can see things are in beta, and these things happen. I'm more annoyed with the 12 chars in usernames :) I understand you can't have reallyreallylongusernames, but I thought 12 was abit short.

ZAMBS. (Yet Another Micro Blogging Service) Perhaps a decent alternative or successor to Jaiku.

It also comes with typos.

www.qaiku.com small finnish dev house builds a Jaiku clone, but with some extra features (multi language, "private cahnnels" channel management...)
Actually quite nice, and if @jyri & team don't get the OS version of Jaiku out soon, then....

Actually, when I saw Qaiku, I thought the OSS version of Jaiku had been released, as it is very close.
Not much draw at the moment because it isn't open, and because Jaiku doesn't go down anymore.

@bogart Funny thing was I thought the same thing. I had to use dig on their qaiku.com domain to verify that they weren't being hosted on appengine.

main draw for me is to give it a good "tyre kicking" and help them find the silly/obvious bugs.

key question: does it have a mobile version? i am not liking their design at all btw.

Qaiku problem: usernames can be up to only 12 chars. Thats stupid.
So I can't get runningwithbulls

No, I'm not involved in any way, but the devs are very keen on listening to users.
